My dealings with Arm Full of Help came at a time when I was desperate for assistance. It was at a time when my son was in prison and my grandson, who lives with me, was threatened to be taken away from me because our living conditions were very poor. I was sick and weak and unable to keep the house up, we had a bad problem with cockroaches, holes in the wall and cupboards and any doors that were still up were barely hanging. I had not the finances not the means to upgrade conditions.

Four male volunteers from Arm Full of Help came to my home with food, clothing and furnishings. They very professionally fixed my home and put new doors up to all the rooms and laid new, wall to wall carpeting, they upgraded the plumbing and installed new fixtures and upgraded the electrical as well. They patched all the holes in the walls and painted my entire home and professionally fumigated until the roaches were gone, and completely cleaned my home. They brought nice furniture so we could sleep on beds and my grandson and I received beautiful clothing. They stocked my cupboards and refrigerator with nutritious food. What they did for me would have cost me thousands of dollars.

They did more for me than I would ever have expected, especially from people I never met before, which is the same testimony Jesus showed as one for us to follow. Arm Full of Help responded to my plea immediately and they worked fast because I had little time before the social services would come to take my grandson The volunteers worked quickly and thoroughly. I am very thankful to Arm Full of Help for their Christ-like concern for those in need. Because of them I still have my grandson and my son will be home soon. I was given a fresh start. I wish there were more people like them with a genuine concern for the less fortunate instead of lining their pockets. Jesus was no respecter of persons whether they were rich or poor; He showed compassion and concern for even the beggar on the street.
